I had an old heirloom kitchen table that had been in the family for decades…a sturdy, round, 4-legged oak table. It had arrived from Europe with my maternal ancestors, and found itself settled in Saskatchewan, on a farm, on a dirt kitchen floor. When my mother and father married, my Grandmother gifted them thi”starter” table.  When I married, my mother, in similar fashion, “gifted” this table to me.  It had seen much usage, been stained, and painted over and needed work to bring her back to her original beauty.  I called Andy, based on his web info, and the wonderful testaments he had received from previous customers.  The guys picked up my precious table, and Andy was quick to get in touch with what he thought needed done, and with a fair estimate for the job.  We agreed…life hit the re-set button a couple of times, and eventually I gave the go-ahead as to a finishing touch.  Andy asked some questions, and knew instinctively what I required, and came through in spectacular fashion.  My table was returned, with a brand new replacement centre leaf, and the transformation  is astonishing.  More to the point, Andy has managed to not only fill in, straighten out, and strengthen my table, he has presented with a finish that brings out all the “prairie” it represents to me.  This table has stories to tell….every patched nick, every filled groove, every off-shade of the original wood, every crack and crevasse has been professionally and lovingly dealt with.  Andy has managed to renew, yet retain, the original narrative, in this story of my table.  I can read something new every time I look at it….and every time I do I will thank Andy for his outstanding ability to draw this narrative out of a piece of furniture.  I would go to him again in a heartbeat and recommend him without reservation.  Thankyou Andy.
